Flip The Script: Changemakers In Production

A place for women to find their spark . . .
“At Secret Pasture Sound, my motto has always been, “tell the stories that need to be told”. But how can we, as a society, tell the stories that need to be told without women telling them from their perspective and with their ideas at the forefront of the music production? Flip the Script will provide women with the tools, access, and opportunities they need to succeed as songwriters, producers, and music business leaders. Knowledge is power, and power gives women the freedom to tell their stories on their own terms. I’m passionate about creating opportunities for women of all ages and backgrounds—starting in Columbia and building toward equal representation in the music industry. I want to give my daughters, future generations, and the little girl inside me what I never had: the confidence, tools, and space to thrive.”
Why is this program important?
Women have historically been left out from the highest levels of the music industry and receive a disproportionate amount of the highest accolades.
Only 5-6% of producers are women
Currently, only 19% of songwriters are women
2025 was the first time in six years that a woman was nominated for producer of the year at the Grammys

Flip the Script will help women by:
Teaching production and music business education in a safe women-led community oriented environment
Providing hands-on learning while recording their own song
Inviting guest female production speakers so women can see themselves in the role of engineer/producer
